It's graduation time!

Here in Hanoi it is customary for entire graduating classes (high school and university) to attend The Temple of Literature (a thousand year old Confucian school preparing future civil servants and mandarins) to pay their respects, pose for photo's and rub the heads of the stone turtles for good luck. On the backs of the stone turtles, which line the grounds, are massive tablets with the inscribed names of past graduates.

It was my good luck to be on hand when classes were taking their turns for group photo's. Each group had two or three professional photographers who all followed the same proscribed shot list.
