The first half of the journey

5,200 km on the first half the trip (over 2,000 on gravel, dirt, mud). Hard to put in to context until I see the Garmin GPS track I'm recording. The beauty of this device is that even when well out of cell phone range Dena can log in and see where I am, down to 50 m accuracy or less, and that I'm still moving. There is an emergency assistance button "just in case".

No matter how many times I come over a rise and the mountains the full width of the horizon, I have to stop and get out to admire the view.
