The motorbikes of Hanoi

Like many countries in Asia, the motorbike is part SUV, pick-up truck, mini van and all purpose delivery vehicle. I spent some time the other day simply shooting families on bikes. While required by law, helmets still appear optional. While I didn't see it so far this trip, I have seen up to five on a bike (Mom, Dad, three kids). It is common to see somebody driving with one hand while looking down and texting, or a bike loaded with goods going to market, including live pigs in wicker cages, stacks of crates of beer or eggs, coal for cooking and fresh produce.

It is endlessly fascinating, full of life and energy. Oh, and don't forget all the honking of horns!
